Barco is following up its announcement of the E2 screen management system at InfoComm 2014, by bringing a smaller version of the platform to InfoComm 2015.
The E2 screen management system became the first screen management solution capable of managing a 4K projector blend with refresh rates of up to 60Hz.
The S3-4K is the smaller version of the E2, complete with the same processing performance and image quality.
It features 12 input channels, four program outputs, four AUX outputs and two dedicated multiviewer outputs.
The system has been designed for the rental and staging market, broadcast studios and mid-sized performance venues.
“The S3-4K is the E2’s more compact sidekick,” explains Andreas Yerocostas, director of image processing R&D at Barco.
“It offers unparalleled flexibility, excellent image quality and rugged durability to create a stunning live experience, all in a single compact and roadworthy enclosure.”
The S3-4K is the latest in Barco’s Event Master series, which is fully modular in design and enables the interlinking of the E2 and S3-4K processor chassis to expand beyond the number of inputs, outputs and layers available.
Barco is consolidating the line-up by ensuring that all current and future products from the series will be controlled using the same Event Master Toolset.
The Event Master Toolset is a cross-platform GUI that provides a step-by-step approach to system configuration and is accessible from any Mac or Windows-based PC over an Ethernet connection.
Barco has yet more to show off however, with the company also revealing the Event Master EC-50 event controller.
Designed to be compact and highly versatile, the EC-50 should provide users with instant access and situational awareness for a multitude of event applications.
“As the perfect extension of the Event Master Toolset software, the EC-50 gives fingertip control over source, preset, layer and destination selection, along with a second touch-enabled display,” says Andreas.
The EC-50 is compatible with both the S3-4K and the E2 screen management systems.
