In addition to making its full catalogue of online education courses free through June 12, AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, has launched a free programme of online courses, presentations, and webinars in Spanish, German, Italian, French and English.
Sessions are aimed at professionals and students seeking to learn from home during the COVID-19 quarantine and will be taught by industry experts covering a range of topics. The online training is suited to those who want to refresh their knowledge in key areas, as well as serving as effective preparation for those studying for their Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam.
“We are keen to support the industry in any way we can during this very difficult time,” says Chris Lavelle, Senior Director of Development EMEA, AVIXA. “By offering free high-quality education and training across a variety of languages and territories, we hope that members can use this opportunity to improve their knowledge and work toward qualifications, so that we can all return stronger in the future. These sessions are being held in addition to our other English language offerings, and I encourage AV professionals to keep checking back on AVIXA’s website for the latest updates on training opportunities, as more events are being added.”
In German language, Holger Wiesenberg, CTS, Sound-Engineer, System Designer, Jaggo Media GmbH, will take participants through a host of topics in the planning and implementation of media technology installations across six sessions starting this month. Topics include needs analysis for AV systems, audio and video calculations, network technologies, and CTS exam preparation. The two-hour sessions will be held during standard working hours in Central European Summer Time (CEST), and the number of participants is limited.
AVIXA has collaborated with Systems Integration Experience Community (SIEC) to organiSe a CTS Online Workshop series, allowing Italian speakers to study and review some content of the CTS exam programme in four sessions. Together with other AV professionals and AVIXA instructor Jose Mozota, CTS, AV professionals will have the opportunity to deepen and improve their knowledge of AV topics, including aspect ratio and DISCAS (Display Image Size for 2D Content in Audiovisual Systems), and Ohm’s law and networking (divided into two separate sessions). The next session will take place at 4pm CEST on April 23.
In addition, AVIXA is also launching Che lo Smart Working sia con voi!, a series of sessions that will focus on how to carry out efficient smart working, with the first session beginning at 4pm CEST on April 28.
French sessions will cover the same topics as the Italian CTS Online Workshop series, and attendees will be instructed by member William Zadnik, CTS, Senior Applications Engineer, Shure France. Zadnik, who is also an AV User Club member, will instruct students at 2 pm CEST every Monday, beginning on May 4.
The Spanish programme, AVIXA en Directo, will consist of a series of live technical courses and presentations in April and May. Topics include AV over IP, key elements in a control centre, LED solutions, optimisation of audio systems, interaction and collaboration in the classroom, IT infrastructure for AV solutions, audio distribution over TCP/IP networks, design guide for churches, laser-phosphor and RGB laser projection systems, and more. Sessions will take place on a total of 12 dates throughout April and May, with each session beginning at 5pm CEST. The next session will take place on April 23.
