AV Stumpfl will be bringing along its next-generation media server software and hardware to InfoComm 2018, the company has announced. That means InfoComm visitors will get a first look at AV Stumpfl’s PIXERA software solution, as well as the company’s PIXERA hardware offerings, both of which is scheduled to be released later this year.
The PIXERA software utilises a 64-bit architecture for real-time media processing, while compositing and management has been built around the key theme of usability. In fact, AV Stumpfl has specifically designed PIXERA to offer a gradual learning curve – allowing beginners to smoothly transition to becoming a specialist over time.
Actions in the 2D and 3D space follow the same mechanisms, with the system designed so that users can execute the most basic actions in record time and with only a minimum effort. A radical new interface logic enables even first time users to intuitively understand the main software mechanics.
AV Stumpfl global business development manager, Horst Damoser explains what makes PIXERA so special: “In order to have a real impact on the highly competitive media server and media playout software market, our development team came up with a radical new approach. There are many great systems out there, but we believe that PIXERA is the only one that strictly follows a product philosophy that lets users focus on their work instead of having to focus on technology. At the end of a busy working day, we want PIXERA users to be able to think about what they achieved that day and not about which sub-menus they had to click.”
Some of the highlights of PIXERA include:
- Groundbreaking and extremely user-friendly GUI
- Seamless integration of 2D and 3D spaces for fast show programming, compositing and warping/projection mapping.
- Integrated projector and LED display databases for drag and drop pre-configuration
- Supports NDI streaming
- Powerful render engine for ultra high resolution content
New Media Server Hardware
In addition to the new PIXERA software, AV Stumpfl will also introduce two new media server models called PIXERA ONE and PIXERA TWO to the public for the first time.
Both models are scheduled to be officially released together with the PIXERA software later this year, as part of a new media server product structure that will be gradually implemented in the next 12 months.
The new media server models are compact all-round solutions that use the latest processor technology and offer many à la carte options for specifying hardware components, input cards and/or software upgrades. Both models support the new FLEX input card technology.
PIXERA ONE is a compact 1U server model, that can be upgraded to play back uncompressed 4K at 60fps. With a depth of only 45cm, the PIXERA ONE is perfect for installation environments. PIXERA ONE will be available with 2 or 4 outputs.
PIXERA TWO is a 2U server model that is similar to the PIXERA ONE in many ways but offers more customization options and a redundant power supply. PIXERA TWO will be available with 2, 4 or 8 outputs.
AV Stumpfl will be exhibiting on stand C3810 at InfoComm 2018, with the show set to take place between June 6-8.
